The onsite content management section allows you to monitor and manage Touchpoints.

Visit Touchpoints are NFC (near-field communication) readers to which exhibitors and partners can assign digital content. When a visitor taps their NFC badge on the Touchpoint they can then access that digital content through Visit Discover. Refer to Touchpoints for more information.

Touchpoint status

Access from Homepage: Select your event > Onsite > Content management

The Touchpoints statuses tab in Visit Create displays the status of all the linked Touchpoints.

Touchpoint status     

OK – Everything is fine.
Awaiting connection – Touchpoint is linked, but no heartbeat received – Go the stand and check the device by tapping it with a smart badge to make sure it is working. Replace if necessary.
Spare – Touchpoint has been sent to the event as a spare, but is not in use.
Connection warning – No heartbeat received for approx. 1 hour and 5 minutes – check the device (signal, battery etc.). Replace if necessary.
Connection error – No heartbeat received for approx. 1 hour and 40 min – check the device (signal, battery etc.). Replace if necessary.
Linking error – Touchpoint hasn’t been correctly linked, perhaps removed too soon from the linking/unlinking Touchpoint. Unlink and retry, or replace.
Unlinking error – Touchpoint hasn’t been correctly unlinked, perhaps removed too soon from the linking/unlinking Touchpoint. Retry to unlink, or place in a separate container if it still doesn’t work.
Battery error – Very low or empty battery. Replace.
Standby – Touchpoint has been turned off.
Unlinked – Touchpoint has been returned and correctly unlinked.

Content

In the content section you can view Touchpoint-related information and you can link, unlink and replace Touchpoints.

The available information is as follows:

  • Type: Event or Partner
  • Name: name of the partner – list can be sorted alphabetically by partner name.
  • Booth: booth number of the partner – list can be sorted by booth number.
  • License info: displays the number of available and used licences per partner – list can be sorted by licence number.
  • Category: Profile or Product content.
  • Content name: name of content – usually booth number + partner or product name.
  • Linked touchpoints: displays the IDs of the linked devices.

Link/unlink Touchpoints to/from content

Touchpoints can be linked and unlinked to and from Digital Content in both Visit Create and Check-in.

Access from  Homepage: Select your event > Onsite > Content management > Content

  • Select the content you wish to assign a Touchpoint to.
  • Connect a Touchpoint to your computer using a MicroUSB cable (contact your client manager to make sure your Touchpoint has the correct firmware version) and press Connect.
  • Place the Touchpoint you wish to link to your content on the plugged Touchpoint, facing each other and link it.

Auto-link Touchpoints

For a faster linking process, click on the Auto-link button. This will automatically select the next digital content on the list and the user can simply place a new Touchpoint on the plugged Touchpoint to get it linked.

Unlink Touchpoints

To unlink a Touchpoint, simply place a linked Touchpoint on the plugged Touchpoint and click on Unlink.

Print label

It’s possible to automatically print a label with a Zebra printer when you check Print label.
