You will usually be required to commit funds upfront (in the form of a Manager’s Cheque) up to the total liability value of the application.

There are a few points to consider:

  • It is critical that you apply for sufficient capacity to cover everyone who may register for the event. This includes all registration types (including exhibitors, press, etc., as well as all pre-registrations whether they attend or not. If you import a list of names into Visit Create, these will all count towards the total. Ultimately, you will only pay for those that do attend, but you must have a permit that covers everyone that could potentially register and attend.
  • In addition to this, you will need to allocate an additional quantity of Check-in terminals. See How does Check-in work onsite for more details.
  • You should only apply for one category of “free” ticket – do not split them into different categories. For an entirely free event, take the maximum size of your entire expected registration database including all staff, add a percentage more, and apply for this number as a single entry.
  • Similarly, if you have any paid tickets, we recommend that all tickets of the same price are grouped together as one permit entry. This means that they can share their capacity limit, reducing the amount you need to inflate your figures by.
  • Note that if you offer any form of discount (e.g. volume, early bird, membership), then every permutation of every possible discount will need to be registered separately on the permit, and provided with a maximum allocation for that price. Because of this DTCM restriction, the Shop in Visit Create must also list each variant as separate shop items too. Therefore, we recommend you keep your pricing as simple as possible.
